Project Topic: Unplayed Matches and Autonomous Moves

This experimental zine explores the intersection of human decisions in competitive sports and the automation of vehicles through AI. Inspired by the unexpected absence of defending champions choosing not to play, alongside the rapid innovation in autonomous driving by Rivian, the project playfully questions control, choice, and unpredictability in both domains. The zine combines fragmented tennis match statistics with imagined scenarios of self-driving cars reacting like players on a field, creating a quirky narrative of strategy and machine autonomy. It emerged from the tension between human absence in sport and the increasing presence of machines taking over roles traditionally managed by people.
